Digitalis purpurea 'Dalmation White'

foxglove

Photo of Digitalis purpurea 'Dalmation White'

£8.99

This variety usually flower in their first year. This white flowered cultivar forms tidy clumps of foliage, but it is for the wonderful spires of thimble-like flowers that open upwards from the base of the spike in summer, that it is best-loved.

Foxgloves are biennials meaning that it usually requires two years to complete its life-cycle, germinating and growing in its first year, then producing its flowers in its second year, after which it usually dies. However, as it self-seeds freely you will have a ready supply of new plants every year. New seedlings that appear can be easily moved in their first season, while still small. Caution: Harmful if eaten.
