This deciduous shrub has pretty, variegated leaves and produces small, creamy white flowers in May and June, followed by white berries. The dark red stems look beautiful in winter and it looks particularly good planted in groups. Caution: Fruit may be harmful if eaten.

Care instructions

Grow in moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. For best stem colour, cut new growth back hard to within 5-7cm from the ground in March.
