This perennial grass, almost bamboo-like in appearance, is a real eye-catcher in a dark, shady spot in the garden. It forms a low mound of arching stems, with cascading layers of narrow leaves striped with bright yellow and green. The graceful effect is similar to a dwarf bamboo but without any invasive tendencies. Slow to grow, making it perfect for the small garden where rampant plants are unwanted. Small green flowers in late summer to autumn.

Grow in moist soil in partial shade or full sun. In spring cut down last years foliage to allow room for the new growth.
