A pyramidal shrub with spreading, layered branches clothed in tapered, deeply-veined dark green leaves which turn red-purple in autumn. Very pretty, white flushed pink lacecap-like flowers appear in early summer. In autumn the leaves will take on good fiery colours before they fall providing another season of interest. Grow in moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Requires minimal pruning. Where necessary remove any misplaced or diseased branches in mid-summer after flowering.
